Rating: This play is recommended for all audiences ages 13 and higher. Subject matter may be difficult to keep the attention of patrons below the age listed above.

 

SYNOPSIS:

Two elderly sisters forget all about southern charm when a young door‐to‐door evangelist comes knocking. This theological comedy blends Smith’s trademark sharpness of wit and depth of character, while telling a story in which a crisis of faith arises when seemingly similar beliefs are discovered to be worlds apart.

SYNOPSIS:

Set in 1963 Caroline Thibodeaux is a 39 year old African‐American being crushed under the weight of dreams of the life she should have lived, and the Job‐like reality she struggles with. Currently employed by the Gellmans, a middle class Jewish family, Caroline has been working under the poverty level as a maid for 22 years, struggling to support her four children in the absence of her husband, a WWII veteran whose inability to find work to support his family lead him to abuse & alcoholism.

SYNOPSIS:

Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure centers on the fate of Claudio, who is arrested by Lord Angelo, the temporary leader of Vienna. Angelo is left in charge by the Duke, who pretends to leave town but instead dresses as a friar to observe the goings‐on in his absence. Angelo is strict, moralistic, and unwavering in his decision‐making; he decides that there is too much freedom in Vienna and takes it upon himself to rid the city of brothels and unlawful sexual activity.
